Summer Time Fishing!

Summer Time Fishing!

Last Updated on May 4, 2021 by SteamWorks

Summer is just around the corner and if this spring is any indication as to what the fishing will be like then we are in store for an outstanding fish filled summer. Snook fishing has been steady especially if I can get plenty of white bait. Redfish are cruising the grass flats and mangrove shorelines. Trout are plentiful and the Tarpon are starting to show up.  I have been patiently awaiting the new boat as there has been some delays. This spring has been very windy as to be expected which has limited my ability in the flats boat to get to where the bait is at time. Safely that is.  The warmer the water gets the more the bait fish will push up onto the flats.  The new boat will allow me to take up to 4 passengers and be able to get to where the bait is and to the fishing spots much quicker.  I am not going to lie I have been incredibly slow as most people who are calling have been looking to take 4 person and I just can’t handle that right now.  Hopefully by June all will be good. The last several trips we have boated double digit redfish as well as snook.  Big jacks have been providing lots of drag screaming fun! Cobia are starting to show up as we have caught a few on the last trip. Trout have been consistent but I haven’t went to the areas where the big girls are just couldn’t make it there without getting beat up. Again the wind has been the factor on my range.  I see multiple guide posting on social media doing the same thing day in and day out, fishing the same spots, and having the same mediocre result.  Multiple boats lined up on both sides of their boats. The last 3 trips we haven’t had a single boat around us. I take a lot of pride in finding my own spots and staying off the beaten path to get to fish that aren’t being hammered day in and day out. I put my time in and run as much as possible with or without a charter. I will tell you one thing that at the end of the day we will have caught plenty of fish and shared a beautiful experience on the water devoid of the frustrations that other angler create. Book your Tampa Bay Fishing Charter with me and be rewarded with a first class experience. Live bait or artificial I will bust my butt to make sure you have the best opportunity to put fish in the boat. 813-358-6046

“Our group had a blast with Capt. Casey. The boat was comfortable and had plenty of room to accommodate our group of 5. Very knowedgable, very friendly and great fisherman. The redfish and trout where great for dinner.”
