Spring into Action!

Last Updated on April 4, 2019 by SteamWorks

Spring time is here and the fishing is heating up along with the flats. As the water warms the bait fish migrate inshore and load the flats with an abundance of bait. Everything else seems to follow. The snook leave the back water creeks and canals and push their way onto the flats and start heading out towards the beaches and inlets in preparation for their spawn. The trout push onto the flats as they also gear up for their spawn. The redfish school up and destroy everything in their path. Along with that there are an abundance of jacks, mackerel, ladyfish and a variety of other species show up in abundance. Cobia also come inshore and the Tarpon are soon to follow. May kicks off the tarpon season with June, July, and August being the best times. Tarpon will remain late into summer and early fall. My focus will be trying to get live bait and working the areas that I have found using artificial lures and bombarding them with live bait. I can;t wait to see what the rest of spring and summer has to offer. If you are looking for a Tampa Fishing Charter I would be more than happy to have you aboard BAG’EM FISHING CHARTERS. “Our group had a blast with Capt. Casey. The boat was comfortable and had plenty of room to accommodate our group of 5. Very knowedgable, very friendly and great fisherman. The redfish and trout where great for dinner.”
