This summer had so far been a fished filled one. On my charters I have been focusing on netting white bait and chumming the fish up. It has been very productive and I have learned a lot so far. The summer fishing will only improve along with my ability to find and net bait. Its a big adjustment from the other coast. My passion for artificial will always be there and when I go out alone its 100% artificial. I have been catching a lot of snook and redfish on artificial as well as live bait. The top water bite is fantastic early in the morning. The snook and reds have been crushing top water as long as you have a good moving tide. It seems like timing is everything here when it comes to the tides. Still learning a lot every time I go out. Keeping a daily fish log is really starting to help me discern a pattern to the fish and when they are willing to cooperate. When the sun is up I am switching over to paddle tail jigs like the D.O.A C.A.L. shadtail, and suspending twitch baits like a MirrOdine. The smaller tarpon are starting to show up and the fish have been a little tricky to land. I was off the water for a few weeks with some major wiring issues but the boat is up and running better than ever. If you are looking for a tampa fishing charter I would be more than happy to accommodate you. I expect the fishing to stay this way well into late September and early October when its begin to cool off. Please call or text me at 813-358-6046 or 407-977-7650. Thanks for reading and hopefully we can get out on the water soon.
