Charters are all inclusive, meaning that everything you need for a successful day on the water is provided. All gear and tackle are provided. Fresh caught live bait before every trip. Plenty of iced bottled waters for the captain and clients. The captain will take photos during the trip and text them to you afterwards. Fishing license are not needed as you will be covered under the captain’s fishing license. Multiple towels are provided as well.
All you need to bring is whatever you want to eat and drink. You are welcome to bring a favorite setup to fish with, but please inform the Captain first so we can determine if the gear will be appropriate. Please bring your own sunscreen as well as some people can have allergic reactions to certain types. It never hurts to bring a rain jacket, or rain gear. This is Florida and it does rain from time to time. Always bring a positive attitude. Fishing is fun regardless of how well the bite is.
Don’t bring an overabundance of personal things. Storage can be limited and there is a greater chance to be lost or broken the more things you have. Do not wear dark soled shoes and no boots of any kind. Do not bring unrealistic expectations, fishing is fun and should remain that way despite the bite. Fish always bite better when people just want to be out on the water and have a good time.
No, fishing licenses are not required as up to 4 anglers are covered under the Captain’s fishing license.
Yes, I carry all the necessary permits and licenses required to fish in my area. I also carry $1,000,000 in liability insurance. We are legal and we all are protected!
Dress accordingly for the weather. Hat, polarized sunglasses, long-sleeved UPF shirt, and sunscreen. For cold days, I always suggest to dress warm. You can always take off layers, but you can’t add them if you don’t have them. It is always colder or hotter on the water. You can always bring/pack rain gear just in case.
I can take up to 4 adults on any given trip. Typical charters are in the 1 to 4 passenger range. Families with smaller children at the ages that don’t require fishing licenses can be accommodated, but please inform the Captain first so that he can gather the appropriate safety gear.
Absolutely! I have a broad range of other fantastic captains that can accompany us on charters. Just please give enough advanced notice so that enough additional captains can be acquired. It can take time to find open and available Captains that actually fish my area and that I trust to put forth 100% effort.
Yes, alcohol is permitted, but please drink responsibly. I have the right to terminate any charter, at any time, if a passenger(s) are deemed unsafe for themselves or others on the boat. Payment will be made in full on the water and you will be dropped off immediately. Safety is my top priority!
24 hours is usually enough time to schedule a charter. The father in advance the better.
Vary rarely do I fish late afternoons/early evenings, especially during the school year. I am Mr. Mom and my responsibilities to my family far exceed my need to be on the water. Family first. During the cooler months of the year and according to the tides I may be able to take a trip. Weekends would be a great possibility. Just please ask.
Yes, a $100 deposit per day is required to hold a day(s) for you. Your charter is not fully confirmed until the deposit is received. Deposits are usually taken by Zelle or Venmo, or even PayPal over the phone. I can run credit cards, but there is a fee involved and it can be a hassle if there is a cancellation. Also, it’s better to call and book personally as the convenience fee associated with online booking can be avoided and will save you close to $40.
Yes, I can take a check, but it has to be a business check. No personal checks!
Absolutely, I understand that charters can be business expenses to entertain clients.
You can cancel your charter up to 7 days before the scheduled charter date. After that, the $100 deposit is non-refundable. There are always extenuating circumstances that may lead you to cancel within the 7 days, but it is up to the Captain’s discretion if you will be refunded. Refunds may also be issued due to inclement weather, but that is also up to the Captain’s discretion. A little rain never hurt, but lightning and thunder are a different story.
Depends on the kid! Just kidding, lol. Kids are always welcome and as a patient father myself, I understand what it takes to keep children happy and engaged. I am also very understanding and experienced with children on the spectrum.
Absolutely! If you love fishing and the outdoors as much as I do then who really cares. Fishing is fun and should be for all regardless of their age, race, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation.
Start times will be discussed a few days prior to the trip. Start times can vary depending on the time of year and tides. Please try to arrive at least 15 mins early. It can take time to load up and I don’t want it taking away time from your charter.
I use a few boat ramps in the area. I will discuss which one will best depending on the fishing and weather. I will discuss with you where and how to get there and also send you a google maps link to the ramp. The two main ramps I use are the Courtney Campbell Causeway Boat Ramp and the Gandy Blvd Boat Ramp.
